As a wedding photographer I cannot stress enough that your venue plays a huge role in how your wedding photos turn out. The lighting, the layout, the scenery, it all matters. That’s why photographing a February wedding at Lake Side Barn in Nampa, Idaho was such a dream.

From the moment I arrived, I knew this venue was something special. The two beautifully designed getting-ready rooms are not only spacious, but beautifully designed which makes such a difference for those emotional, detail-rich moments at the start of the day. The grooms quarters is in an old silo and the bride’s room is in the upstairs of the barn. Clean backgrounds, thoughtful design, and plenty of space for your bridal party? Yes, please.

Inside, the reception and ceremony space is equally stunning. The dramatic light fixtures add so much character and depth to photos, especially in the evening when the glow creates a warm, romantic atmosphere. Whether you’re planning an indoor ceremony or a cozy reception, the space photographs beautifully from every angle.

And then there’s the landscape. Even in February, the surrounding views provided the most gorgeous backdrop for portraits. Open skies, natural textures, and peaceful scenery gave us timeless, romantic images that truly reflect the joy of the day. The outdoor area would also be a great setup for a reception or ceremony.
